Leslie Tydings, RN, RYT, Embodyment Yoga Therapist

Yoga Background of 8 years.

I started taking yoga classes at a local health club. I suffered from severe migraines, back and neck problems for many years, seeing M.D’s , chiropractors and massage therapists. I lived life very tensely. Doing yoga always seemed to bring a change in myself, yet I wasn’t even aware of that at the time; I just knew it was good for me. I started trying different types of yoga by utilizing videotapes in my home; concurrently I had also been searching spiritually within and out. Researching the Internet, I came across a very respected yoga teacher, Rama Berch, who was giving a Core Opening Weekend at www.Kripalu.org, the largest yoga institute in the U.S. She had taught yoga at Deepak Chopra’s Center in La Jolla for 5 years. I was aware of Dr. Chopra. I then knew that was the course for me. After taking the Core Opening weekend with Rama, I had a feeling within that I never felt before. It was a feeling of openness. I took her videotape home and did Svaroopa® for about 2 years. I practiced the yoga every morning and knew I had to do this to feel physically better, but also, it gave me a confidence I had always wanted. I felt comfortable to speak openly in public. I decided to take the Svaroopa® Foundations course in order to go deeper and subsequently started the Teachers Training Track.

I Received Formal Teachers Training in Svaroopa® Yoga in August 2004, And, I’ve been officially teaching for 2 years. Currently, I am in continuing educational training with Master Yoga Foundation in La Jolla, CA. www.masteryoga.org under the direction of Rama Berch, founder of Master Yoga Foundation, also the past President and founder of Yoga Alliance, the organization providing standards and continuing education for yoga professionals. www.yogaalliance.org
